The Greek word “Eureka” is integrally related to a legendary story that exemplifies what EurekaVision strives to do for our clients.

It is said that long ago a king asked a goldsmith to produce a golden crown for him. Unfortunately, after the king received the finished crown, he began to wonder if perhaps the goldsmith had cheated him by removing gold and adding the same weight of silver. In those days, the suspicious king had no way to prove his suspicions without melting down the crown – something he did not want to do.

As a result, the king had what appeared to be an unsolvable problem.

Then one day, while the legendary scholar Archimedes was taking a bath, he had an epiphany.

As the scholar stepped into his bath, he noticed that a certain amount of water was displaced. He then suddenly realized that the volume of the displaced water would equal the volume of his body that was submerged in the water.

Archimedes had inadvertently discovered a method of accurately measuring volume. This newfound knowledge, along with existing equipment for measuring weight, gave Archimedes a way to determine the crown’s density, which would indicate its purity.

He had solved the king’s seemingly unsolvable problem!

Filled with joy at this surprising discovery, Archimedes, according to the legend, immediately jumped out of the bath and ran through the streets naked, shouting, “Eureka! Eureka!” (“I have found it!”).

Like Archimedes, EurekaVision seeks to discover new and innovative solutions to the problems of our clients. Like Archimedes, we treat our clients like kings. And, like Archimedes, we try to determine if our clients’ current communications strategies and tactics are pure gold or if they are a less valuable alloy. Then, when we come up with effective solutions to your communications problems, we want to shout them to the world: “Eureka! Eureka! I have found it!”

Today, the word “Eureka” has come to signify those Eureka moments – those moments when a person makes an astounding discovery that makes him or her want to shout with joy. In our business, those moments might happen at any time.
